What a private party here actually looks like
Most private parties on the island take one of four shapes, and each has different rules and costs:
- Villa party: the classic. Private chef or caterer, bar setup, DJ, ambient lighting. The catch is licensing: many rental villas prohibit events, and outdoor music at residential properties generally has to stop around midnight, sometimes earlier. The villas that genuinely permit late music are a short list, and they book early.
- Boat or yacht day: small licensed boats for 8–12 guests typically run €1,000–€4,000 per day; bigger yachts and catamarans €10,000+ per day. Skipper included, guest count capped by the boat's licence. Formentera lunch runs are the default itinerary for a reason.
- Beach-club or restaurant takeover: reserved areas or full buyouts at licensed venues. You get late music, sea views and zero permit risk; minimum spends apply and peak Saturdays go months ahead.
- Dinner that becomes a party: long table at a finca or villa, chef-led menu, then the DJ takes over. The most reliable format for mixed-age groups.

The licensing point nobody tells you until it's too late
Ibiza's municipalities take noise seriously, and neighbours in villa areas call it in. A party shut down by the Policía Local at 11:30pm is the most expensive mistake on the island: you've paid for everything and had half the night. Before we recommend any venue we check three things: whether the property or venue is allowed to host events at all, what the realistic music cut-off is, and whether your guest count fits its capacity. If your dream villa can't do late music, we'll say so and offer a licensed alternative rather than let you find out on the night.

How much does a private villa party in Ibiza cost?
Typical range for a catered party of around 50 guests: €6,000–€15,000+ on top of the villa rental. That usually breaks down as €80–€180 per head for food, €400–€1,500+ for a DJ, plus sound and lighting hire, bar staff, and security for larger nights. Suppliers quote each job individually.
Do Ibiza villas allow parties?
Many don't: rental contracts often prohibit events, and residential villas generally can't host amplified outdoor music late. A smaller pool of properties permits events, and licensed venues such as agroturismos and event fincas can go later. Always confirm in writing before you invite anyone; we do this check as step one.
What time does music have to stop at a villa party?
At residential villas, outdoor amplified music generally needs to end around midnight (often earlier depending on the municipality and the neighbours), and some properties use sound limiters. Moving indoors, dropping to acoustic levels, or booking a licensed venue are the usual ways to keep the night going.
How far ahead should I book?
In July and August, 4–8 weeks minimum for a full production: good DJs, chefs and sound crews book out. May, June, September and October are more forgiving, and off-season parties can sometimes come together in days.
